Low maintenance was a must for this Wanaka holiday house. Therefore, simple, mass planting was used to minimise upkeep as much as possible. The simple, geometric design of the house was mirrored in the garden design with a minimalistic material palette. Plants with bold colour on mass have been used to offset the muted colour tones of the house and liven up the walled courtyard. Plants have been layered giving a formal feel to the garden while maintaining the contemporary style of the dwelling.
